Review giving/receiving verbs

1. Everyone wants a Christmas present as shown below.

Slide 1: Before Christmas, each person wants something.

2. Say who gave what to whom.

Slide 2: Each person gave something to the other.

3. Say who received what from whom.

Slide 3: Each person received something from the other.

4. Review the verb あげる.

Slide 4 showing the speaker gave X to the othres.

5. Review the verb くれる.

Vてあげる

You helped your friend who had a broken arm. Tell what you did for him using …てあげる.

Ex: bought medicine (and come back)

→ (友だちに) 薬を買ってきてあげました。

Pair Work: Volunteering to help
Your friend needs help. Volunteer to help him/her using Vてあげましょうか. For example,
A: いそがしくて、買いものに行く時間がないんです。
B: じゃ、私が買いものに行ってあげましょうか。
A: ありがとうございます。おねがいします。
  1. スーパーで買いものしたいけど、車が運転(うんてん) できない (can't drive) んです。
  2. 時間がないので、せんたくできないんです。
  3. ラーメンが食べたいけど、つくれないんです。
  4. ファイルをプリントしたいけど、プリンターがないんです。
  5. 朝(あさ)ねぼうしたんです。
  6. 今日中(きょうじゅう)に日本語の作文(さくぶん)を書かなくちゃいけないんです。
  7. あたまがいたくて、ねられないんです。
  8. 明日(あした) までにしゅくだいをしなくちゃいけないけど、コンピュータがつかえないんです。

Ｖてくれる or Ｖてもらう

Say what each person did for you using Ｖてくれる or Ｖてもらう.
