In this lesson, you will learn to describe families by using clause modifiers and to distinguish in-group vs. out-group family terms (honorific and humble). We will also learn to express on-going actions (e.g., "She is using a computer") and resultant states (e.g., "They are married").

Useful Social Expressions

  1. いつもお世話(せわ) になっております: Thank you for all you do for us. (In written communication, this functions as a formal greeting.)
  2. いえいえ、こちらこそ: Not at all; likewise.
