Honorific Expressions
In this lesson, we will learn various honorific expressions (尊敬語) to ask something and give advices and gentle encouragements. We will also learn how to thank someone for doing something, how to congratulate others and express the idea that something "is supposed to be so-and-so."
Honorific verb forms
To thank someone for doing something: ~くれてありがとう
To congratulate someone: ~てよかったですね (or to say I was glad that something happened: ~てよかったです)
To express one's expectation: ~はずです (be supposed to...)
