Create a conversation like the following based on your position (A = a woman on the right) in relation to the listener (B = on the left).

A:	あれ (or これ、それ) は にほんごで なんて いいますか。
B:	どれですか。

Both types of adjectives are shown below. Note: All い-adjectives end with い, but な-adjectives end with various sounds including い. な-adjectives are marked in red below.

Create a conversation like this:

Work with your partner. Look at the pictures and ask what kind of thing it is. Answer using one of the adjectives.

Look at each slide and create conversations using い-Adj + Nです or な-Adj +な+ Nです.

A:　これは、スミスさんのコンピュータですね。 B:　ええ、そうです。あたらしい コンピュータですよ。 A:　ああ、そうですか。	A:　これは、たなかさんのへやですね。 B:　ええ、そうです。きれいなへやですよ。 A:　ええ、そうですね。

Complete the chart below by following the given example.

Look at each slide and ask the conditions of each item and answer affirmatively or negatively. Note that い-Adjです and な-Adjです have different negative endings.

A: スミスさんの つくえはちいさいですか。 B: ええ、とても ちいさいです。 or いいえ、あまりちいさくありません。 or いいえ、あまりちいさくないです。 　（あまり + Neg. = "not very ...")	A: スミスさんの つくえは きれいですか。 B: ええ、とても きれいです。 or いいえ、あまりきれいじゃありません or きれいじゃないです。 　（あまり + Neg. = "not very ...")

Work with your partner.

Ask your partner about the following things and person s/he has, using appropriate adjectives. Use the adjectives from the list below.

A: [Name] さんのかばんは　おおきいですか。
B:　ええ、とても おおきいです。(very ...)
or 　いいえ、あまり おおきくありません。 (not very ...)
