	Good afternoon! / Hi! こんにちは。 /konnichiwa/
2: It is 9 a.m. A friend of yours is walking toward you. Greet him.
	Good morning. [casual] おはよう。 /ohayou/
3: It is 9 a.m. Your teacher is walking toward you. Greet her.
	Good morning. [polite] おはようございます。 /ohayou gozaimasu/
4: It is 7 p.m. You met your teacher at a restaurant. Greet her.
	Good evening. こんばんは。 /konbanwa/
5: It is 9 p.m. at night. After dinner, your guests are leaving. What do you say to them?
	Good night. おやすみなさい。 /oyasuminasaii/
6: You are leaving Yamada-sensei's office. Say goodbye to her politely.
	A: Good bye! しつれいします 。 /yamada-sensei, shitsureishimasu/ B: See you. じゃあ、また。 /jaa, mata/
7: You are saying goodbye to your friend. (You will see her again later.)
	A: See you again. (Casual) じゃあ、またね。 /jaa, matane/ B: OK, bye. (Casual) うん、バイバイ。 /un, baibai/
8: You just brought a cup of coffee to your colleague. As you give it to her, you say...
	A: Here you go. どうぞ。 /douzo/ B: Thank you. ありがとう。 /arigatou/
9: Your colleague has just brought you coffee. You respond...
	A: Here you go. どうぞ。 /douzo/ B: Thanks. どうも。 /doumo/
10: Your friend (A) is giving you (B) a bouquet for your birthday. Please respond as the woman in the picture (B).
	A: Here you go. どうぞ。 /douzo/ B: Thank you very much. どうもありがとう。 /doumo arigatou/
11: You (A) are on the bullet train, and you would like to buy a coke. You point to it and say to the vendor (B)...
	A: Will you please? おねがいします。 /onegaishimasu/ B: Here you go. どうぞ。 /douzo/ A: Thanks. どうも。 /doumo/
12: You can't reach the book on the top shelf, and a stranger gets it for you. As he (A) hands the book to you, you (B) say...
	A: Will you please? おねがいします。 /onegaishimasu/ B: Here you go. はい、どうぞ。 /hai, douzo/ A: Thank you. ありがとうございます。 /arigatou gozaimasu/ B: You are welcome. どういたしまして。 /dou itashimashite/
13: At the aiport, a stranger's briefcase opens, and he does not appear to notice it. You would like to get his attention.

Describe the context in which a speaker changes his/her politeness level of the speech as shown below.

4.	Is it okay to say one's own name using a title like さん /-san/ or せんせい /-sensei/?
	Answer No. One cannot use a title after one's own name.

Combine two or three situations from above and practice speaking with your partner as shown below.
